The Conehead® dual-density expanded polystyrene (EPS) liner enhances impact management by distributing impact forces more efficiently. Six critical zones within the helmet have been finely tuned to respond progressively to impacts at different speeds, ensuring optimized safety. The expanded volume EPS in strategic areas provides increased impact absorption and suspension between the rider’s head and the ground, enhancing overall protection. The chin bar is constructed from expanded polypropylene (EPP), offering superior damage resistance and energy absorption, contributing to comprehensive impact mitigation.
Additional features include a clavicle shell relief zone filled with EPS and EPP to help reduce clavicle injuries, a custom molded rubber trim with an integrated nose guard for added protection, and a comfort liner with washable, moisture-wicking, anti-microbial cheek pads for extended comfort. The helmet employs True Functional Ventilation (TFV), which actively channels air through multiple intake vents, vent channels within the EPS, and exhaust vents at the rear, ensuring consistent airflow during rides. The helmet weighs approximately 2.9 pounds (size MD/LG), providing a balance between safety and comfort. An included soft fleece helmet bag facilitates storage, and an optional cold weather breath guard is available for additional rider comfort in colder conditions.
